Definiti dal New York Post "awesome and unforgettable", questo gruppo di giovani e arrabbiati jazzman americani sta sconvolgendo il mondo della musica con una sapiente e misteriosa mescolanza..
The Hub è un trio di free-jazz newyorkese. The Hub hanno suonato nei jazz clubs più esclusivi europei come The Knitting Factory, Copenhagen Jazz House and UK's The Wardrobe. Il Guardian (UK) ha detto di loro: "The Hub's music is best described as free jazz meets death metal inside the blades of a combine harvester".Uscito dalla scena underground di Brooklyn, questo avant-garde jazz trio ralizza un blend moderno di stili musicali incredibilmente diversi fra loro. Il Metro (UK) ha scritto: "The hungry young players in The Hub have a voracious appetite for far-flung sounds, Charles Ives, Busta Rhymes and Slayer are given as reference points, but their energy, openness and attitude pin them to a specific place and time: namely New York City at the dawn of the new millenium."
The Hub sono Dan Magay (saxophone), Tim Dahl (electric bass) and Sean Noonan (drums). Questo è quello che nel mondo si dice di loro singolarmente: On drums Sean Noonan displays incredible amounts of energy and original, creative talent. "Behind the drums, Noonan contorts his body spasmodically as if he's just stuck his fingers in an electric socket. He has an extremely unorthodox approach, waving his limbs about in a manner guaranteed to horrify jazz purists, and he occasionally attacks his cymbals in mock rage." (James Griffiths, music critic). "Dan Magay on saxophone holds his ownamid the maelstrom, curling off sinewy lines that refuse to be intimidated." (The Guardian). Tim Dahl, an innovator of the electric bass is described by jazz legen Yusef Lateef as "a model of soul and mind in search of ultimate truth and aesthetic".

Some are shocked by the rock star posings of Tim Dahl as he mutilates his bass in a frenzy of soloing. Others are thrilled by the cutting-edge sound that the band brings from the Brooklyn underground scene. But one thing's always for sure - no one is bored.”
E in Italia: “Tocca ai The Hub, un trio basso-sax-batteria da New York. Oddìo! Standard jazz devastati e resi balletti meccanici, hard-bop isterico. Giovani e spietati, veloci e perfetti, algidi e spettrali. Il bassista passa da sonorità alla Pastorius e Percy Jones, a distorsioni alla Red Hot Chili Peppers e Rage Against the Machine. Il tutto, però, messo in un frullatore a velocità massima. Come andare sulle montagne russe. Ooooooohohhh! Spezzoni velocizzati di combattimenti di kung-fu e macchinine a scontro, autostrade, folli bolidi che sfrecciano in ogni direzione, incidenti mortali e carambole automobilistiche a cui nessuno bada. Bossenove spappolate, ballads e pezzi free attraversati da scariche elettriche da 5000 volts. Roboanti, freddissimi tecnicismi… Fuori, aggressivo, sibila ancora il vento e, dopo una serie di mulinelli, scaglia polvere e frammenti di foglie secche nei miei occhi, facendomeli lacrimare”.
